BEIJING, Jan 24, 2008 (Xinhua via COMTEX) -- SWDHF | news | PowerRating | PR Charts -- The technology in integrated chip for digital TV will help boost China's digital TV market, according to Zhang Xuebin, CEO of Skyworth Digital Holdings Limited (0751.HK).

This will promise a prosperous market for set top box, as TV cannot be replaced by digital ones in a short period of time, Zhang said.

Shanghai-based Maxscend Technologies Inc. has recently launched the country's first integrated chip for digital TVs, which could receive digital TV programs transmitted in either single-carrier or multi-carrier.

An industrial insider said that China was slow in developing digital TV, and it must work out a package of policies to encourage development of digital TV industry.
